Cytotec (Misoprostol) is a prescription medication known as a Prostaglandin E1 Analogue. It is used primarily for the prevention of NSAID-induced gastric ulcers, treatment of duodenal ulcers, and to facilitate fat absorption in cystic fibrosis. It comes with several warnings regarding its abortifacient properties (abortion causing), for which reason it is contraindicated (prohibited) in pregnant women.
